Kapok is a lightweight natural fiber traditionally used as filling for pillows and cushions across many parts of the Philippines. Gathered from mature seed pods, the fiber is separated and collected by hand, retaining much of its original texture and character.

This kapok is left untreated and minimally processed. Its color varies naturally from pale cream to light brown, with occasional traces of seeds or pod material remaining within the fiber — part of the nature of hand-separated kapok rather than industrial refinement.

The fiber carries a faint natural aroma often described as dry, woody, or lightly leafy, especially when newly packed. This scent softens over time with airing and use.

Soft yet springy, kapok expands easily and creates a light, breathable filling suited for traditional pillows and cushions. Depending on desired firmness and pillow size, approximately 1 to 1.5 kilograms is commonly used for one pillow.

Because kapok is highly sensitive to moisture, harvesting and drying are closely tied to seasonal conditions. Freshly harvested batches are limited during periods of heavy rain.

This is not synthetic stuffing.
